Tired of Love Drama, This Woman Chooses to Marry Herself

Light House Denver – Marry herself—this is the decision made by Lynee Gollogly (39), following in the footsteps of Sophie Tanner (37). After years of failed relationships, Tanner decided to stop getting caught up in love drama and chose to marry herself. Gollogly, who experienced something similar, grew tired of romantic relationships and ultimately decided to marry herself before turning 40.

Leaving Love Drama Behind

Gollogly, a business analyst from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, revealed that she is now happy with her independent life. She confessed that she no longer has an interest in romantic relationships and has chosen to live her life more happily on her own. As part of the celebration, she is planning a wedding ceremony in April, complete with a traditional white wedding gown. Not only that, but she also plans a honeymoon in Rome to celebrate this major life decision.

Making Her Own Decisions

Gollogly explained that although she had been in many relationships, she did not feel the need to marry just because of social pressure. “I’ve had many potential relationships, but I didn’t want to force myself to get married just because of social pressure,” Gollogly said. She also added that after being single for quite some time since her last relationship, she has no intention of looking for a man for a new relationship. “I was once engaged when I was younger. That decision was foolish, and I didn’t feel like there was any positive change in my life,” she added.

Inspiration from a Favorite TV Show

There was a particular moment that made Gollogly confident in her decision. An episode of the TV show Friends inspired her, where characters Monica, Rachel, and Phoebe wore wedding dresses. “For some reason, that scene gave me the idea. I won’t wait for my soulmate with sadness, I will marry myself,” she confidently shared.

Family Support

Gollogly’s mother, Flo (68), initially thought her daughter’s plan was absurd, but she still supported Gollogly’s decision. “My daughter hasn’t met her soulmate yet, but I see she has a successful career and does everything on her own. I’m looking forward to her wedding day with herself,” said Flo proudly.

Gollogly shows that true happiness doesn’t always come from a romantic relationship with someone else. She demonstrates that happiness also comes from accepting oneself and celebrating life without waiting for a partner. With this brave decision, Gollogly encourages many to reflect on the idea that marriage and happiness come in many forms.
