Buzz! Grok Imagine AI Considered Capable of Creating Sexual Content
Light House Denver – Grok Imagine, the latest and most controversial feature of Elon Musk’s chatbot Grok, has once again captured public attention. Previously, Grok faced criticism for spreading antisemitic rhetoric, promoting conspiracy theories, and offering romantic interactions with anime-style AI characters.
Now, Musk, through his company xAI, has launched a new feature called Grok Imagine, an AI-powered image and video generator that transforms text prompts into visual content.
Grok Imagine uses advanced text-to-image and text-to-video technology. The most controversial aspect, however, is the “Spicy” mode, which explicitly allows the creation of sexual or NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content.

According to TechCrunch, the feature is available exclusively to paying SuperGrok and Premium+ X subscribers. In testing, some sensitive requests were blocked, but many still went through. TechCrunch even reported being able to generate “semi-nude images” in mere seconds.
The feature can also depict public figures or celebrities, though certain filters are in place. For example, when asked to generate an image of a pregnant Donald Trump, the system instead produced alternatives, such as Trump standing next to a pregnant woman or holding a baby.
Elon Musk welcomed Grok Imagine with great enthusiasm. On platform X, he claimed the number of images generated jumped from 14 million to 20 million in just one day. He described it as a “meme warehouse” with limitless creative potential, promising that its capabilities would grow rapidly.
Despite its innovation, the launch of Grok Imagine has raised warnings from technology ethics experts. The biggest risk lies in the misuse of sexual content involving public figures or individuals without consent.
The speed and ease of generating sensitive visual content could exacerbate issues like non-consensual pornography, online harassment, and image manipulation. With a large user base on platform X, the potential for widespread misuse is a serious concern.
Some view Grok Imagine as a creative leap that provides freedom of expression, while others see it as a threat to privacy, ethics, and digital safety.
Regardless of the debate, Grok Imagine represents Elon Musk’s latest step in expanding the reach of his AI technologies. The question remains: will this be a milestone of innovation, or merely another addition to Grok and generative AI’s long list of controversies?
