Rolex for National Team Bought with Prabowo’s Own Money
Light House Denver – State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi confirmed the Rolex watches for the national team were bought with President Prabowo’s personal funds. He emphasized that no state budget was used for the purchase.
“Absolutely,” said Prasetyo at the Presidential Palace Complex on Tuesday (June 10, 2025), in response to questions about the source of the funds for the Rolex watches for the national team. He added that the gift was a gesture of appreciation and direct support from the President, recognizing the team’s achievements and dedication. “It’s all positive energy, a show of his support,” Prasetyo remarked.
Prasetyo also expressed hope that the players’ fighting spirit would remain high, especially as they prepare to face a tough opponent, Japan.
“Japan may be strong, but that doesn’t mean we’re weaker. We can beat Japan,” he added optimistically.

Earlier, social media buzzed with reports about Rolex watches given to players of the Indonesian national team. President Prabowo reportedly handed out the gifts after hosting a lunch at his residence on Friday (June 6, 2025). The event took place just a day after Indonesia’s 1–0 victory over the Philippines in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
After the lunch, people saw the players carrying black gift bags. Several of them shared “unboxing” moments of the luxury watches on Instagram Stories.
One notable post came from Justin Hubner (@justinhubner5), showing the signature green Rolex box containing a GMT-Master II 40mm watch.
The official Rolex website listed the watch at approximately Rp193,782,000 as of Friday (June 7, 2025). Rolex crafted the timepiece from Oystersteel, a 904L-grade stainless steel they developed exclusively. This material offers exceptional resistance to corrosion.
The gift is not just a token of appreciation. It also serves as a symbol of national pride and recognition of the players’ hard work and dedication.
