Jackie Chan’s Daughter Becomes Homeless in Canada, How Did It Happen?
Light House Denver – Jackie Chan’s daughter, Etta Ng Chok-lam, proves that being the child of a global celebrity doesn’t always guarantee a prosperous life. The biological daughter of the legendary actor is now living as a homeless person in Toronto, Canada.
According to South China Morning Post, on October 9 of last year, Jackie Chan’s daughter was seen lining up for free meals in Toronto. She was reportedly wearing a blue jacket and long pants, appearing disheveled and reflecting her difficult living conditions.
Meanwhile, her father, Jackie Chan, is reportedly busy with multimillion-dollar film projects, including a Disney live-action adaptation. The Hong Kong-born actor has an estimated net worth of US$400 million. However, he is said to have offered no financial support to his daughter.

Etta was born on November 19, 1999, from Jackie Chan’s affair with Elaine Ng Yi-lei, a former Miss Asia 1990. Although Jackie later admitted that Etta was his daughter, he reportedly cut ties with Elaine after learning about the pregnancy.
In his memoir Never Grow Up, Jackie expressed regret and apologized to his wife, Joan Lin, and their son, Jaycee Chan.
Since childhood, Etta has reportedly never received financial support from Jackie nor was she legally acknowledged by him. In 2015, she stated that she was not angry with her father but had no desire to meet him. She also does not use Jackie’s surname.
Despite his enormous wealth, Jackie Chan is reported to have never offered help to Elaine in raising their daughter.
In 2017, Etta came out as a lesbian and married Canadian influencer Andi Autumn in 2018. Before their wedding, the couple posted a video on YouTube where they claimed they were homeless and said their families had forced them to live under a bridge due to homophobia.
“We’ve gone to the police, hospitals, food banks, LGBTQ+ community shelters, and no one cares,” Etta said in the now-deleted video.
Etta’s mother, Elaine, stated that her daughter has emotional issues and had received therapy in the past but stopped attending sessions after leaving Hong Kong.
Financially, Etta and Autumn have also faced hardship. The hostel reportedly evicted them in late 2018 after they failed to pay rent of around US$250. Etta has since returned to Canada and is now reportedly working at a restaurant in Toronto’s Chinatown.
