Fried Rice as the ‘Fuel’ for EXO’s D.O. Concert in Jakarta
Light House Denver – Doh Kyung Soo, also known as EXO’s D.O., successfully entertained thousands of fans at his solo concert Do It in Jakarta. The event was held at Indonesia Arena on Saturday night (August 9, 2025). During his performance, he jokingly said that he was singing with the “power of fried rice” he had eaten earlier that day, which sparked laughter and cheers from the audience.
“I ate fried rice this afternoon, so I’m singing powered by fried rice,” he said.
Since the afternoon, the area around the venue was already crowded with fans from various cities. They dressed all in white, following the dress code, ranging from casual t-shirts to elegant kebayas, and took photos outside the arena. Once the doors opened, the audience filled every seating category, turning the large Indonesia Arena hall into a neat, unified sea of white.

As the lights dimmed, the sound of a guitar strumming filled the air, and a platform on the stage slowly rose. Through a thin mist, D.O.’s silhouette appeared, greeted by hysterical screams. The concert opened with “Do You Remember” from his album BLISS, followed by “Nobody Knows” and “Wonder.” Between songs, EXO’s D.O. warmly greeted the crowd and praised their incredible energy.
The concert did not rely on large LED visuals or complicated choreography. Instead, it focused on dynamic lighting, dominated by refreshing green hues, and clear sound quality. D.O. performed jazzy tunes like “Simple Joys” and high-energy songs such as “Popcorn” and “5 Minutes,” which made the audience stand up and dance along.
One of the most stunning moments came when D.O. floated above the stage using a special rig, singing “Where You Were” while scanning the entire arena. The audience fell silent, mesmerized by his smooth voice, with many capturing the rare moment on their phones.
As a surprise, D.O. invited the audience to sing along (noraebang) with a live band playing EXO songs like “The First Snow,” “Don’t Go,” and “Peter Pan.” The arena turned into a massive choir, making D.O. smile proudly.
“You all know Korean so well, I’m impressed!” he joked, imitating the fans’ singing.
For many fans, this was a deeply personal moment. Zahrotul Oktaviani, a fan in CAT 2, said D.O.’s songs always carry empowering messages about self-love. Another fan, Michelle, said his live voice was “more beautiful than the recordings” and promised to attend again if he returned.
Towards the end, D.O. slowed the tempo with “In Another Life” and “Somebody,” before closing the concert with “Rose” and “Sing Along!”. He thanked the audience and promised to come back to Jakarta.
“Don’t get sick, eat well, okay? I’m healthy too, so no need to worry about me,” he said.
That night, the fans left with warm memories, vivid visuals, and a unique story to cherish for years: their idol came to Jakarta, flew above the stage, and sang with boundless energy, all thanks to a simple plate of fried rice.
